Walk-Through Training Video
Step 1 — Open the Mega Menu Editor
Click Mega Menu in the WordPress admin sidebar. The dedicated block editor opens in full screen.
The editor toolbar at the top includes the following actions:
| Button | What it does |
| List View | Toggles a tree view of all blocks in the menu. |
| Reset Mega Menu | Resets the entire draft back to the default starter template |
| Import from Legacy Menu | Imports your legacy mega menu as a starting point. Only appears when a legacy menu exists on your site (Most of our dealers have a legacy menu). |
| Past Revisions | Opens a dropdown of recently published versions to restore |
| Preview Mega Menu | Opens a preview of the current draft on the live site. |
| Save Draft | Saves the current draft without publishing. The editor also auto-saves in the background. |
| Publish | Publishes the current draft and makes it the live version. |
The toolbar also includes standard Undo and Redo buttons, and a Settings icon on the right side that toggles the sidebar inspector open and closed.
**Your new mega menu will already be structured as you currently see it on the live website.
The following instructions are dedicated to making adjustments to that already existing structure. If you make changes to your menu, that you want to see published to the website frontend, please notify Support at support@tractru.com once you publish your menu editor adjustments. **
Step 2 — Make Adjustments to Your Menu Structure
To add a navigation item (top tier navigation), click the + (block inserter) and choose a Navigation Item. Each Navigation Item can be configured as either a Link (navigates to a URL) or a Dropdown (opens a content panel).
Step 3 — Adding Content to Dropdown Items
Each Dropdown navigation item contains a Pane, which holds a Columns block, which holds Column blocks, which hold your actual content blocks.
Navigation Item (Dropdown)
└── Pane
└── Columns
└── Column 1 | Column 2 | Column 3…
└── Content blocks
To add content inside a dropdown:
- Click the navigation item to expand it in the editor.
- Click the + button inside a column to add a content block.
Below is an overview of each content block:
| Block | What it does |
|---|---|
| Navigation Item | Top-level entry in the nav bar. Link or Dropdown. |
| Pane | Structural container inside a Dropdown Navigation Item. |
| Columns | Container for 1–4 Column blocks. Controls vertical alignment. |
| Column | One column inside Columns. Horizontal/vertical alignment + width. |
| Navigation List | Headed link list. One or two columns. |
| Featured Links | Styled list of prominent links. |
| Links with Icons | Grid of links, each with an icon, title, and optional description. |
| Link with Icon | A single icon + title + URL entry inside a Links with Icons grid. |
| Featured Banner | Full-bleed promotional banner with background image and CTA. |
| Info Banner | Promotional unit with image beside text and a CTA button. |
| About Us | Short headline + description with alignment. |
| Locations | Selected dealer location cards with optional sidebar images. |
Step 4 — Preview Your Menu
To see how the menu will look on the live site before publishing:
- Click Preview in the toolbar.
- A new browser tab opens showing the menu in its current draft state.
- Hover over or click navigation items to see the dropdowns.
**The preview shows the current draft — not what’s currently live on the frontend of the website.**
Tip: You can share the preview link with others for feedback. The link is valid for 8 hours.
Step 5 — Publish and Launch
Publishing happens in two steps: publishing the draft, then reaching out to Support at support@tractru.com switching your site’s header to use the new Mega Menu Renderer.
